Corey Haim just made Dave a rich man.
Wednesday, March 31st, 2010Hey Everyone,
I’ve been getting a lot of crap from the crew of “The Dave and Steve Show,” as well as from recent guests such as comedian Mike Schmidt, in regards to my love of the Corey Haim / Corey Feldman classic, “License to Drive.”
For the last few months we’ve been giving out videogames on our show, and I thought, “Wouldn’t it be fun to give out a copy of “License to Drive” on DVD in April since I’ve been getting so much grief over it?” Plus I figured I could probably find it for 5 bucks just about anywhere.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Turns out that the untimely death of Mr. Haim has shot the asking price of “License to Drive” from bargain-bin levels up to what you’d expect to pay for an entire season of “Two and a Half Men.” Take a look at the screenshot from Amazon below. This was not doctored, and you’re welcome to take a look for yourself if you don’t believe it:

It’s tough to see, but the cheapest asking price for a USED copy is $40+ bucks! Not only that, but the damn thing is even more on sites like eBay and DeepDiscountDVD.com.
What does this prove? Well not a damn thing actually, other than the fact that, as much as we love our listeners, you won’t be getting a copy of “License to Drive” from us in April. Keep your chin up though, because we’re expecting the price to return to that of a cup of cheap coffee for March, so keep listening for your chance to win!
Argaregards,
-Dave
