Corey Haim just made Dave a rich man.

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Hey Everyone,

I’ve been getting a lot of crap from the crew of “The Dave and Steve Show,” as well as from recent guests such as comedian Mike Schmidt, in regards to my love of the Corey Haim / Corey Feldman classic, “License to Drive.”

For the last few months we’ve been giving out videogames on our show, and I thought, “Wouldn’t it be fun to give out a copy of “License to Drive” on DVD in April since I’ve been getting so much grief over it?” Plus I figured I could probably find it for 5 bucks just about anywhere.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Turns out that the untimely death of Mr. Haim has shot the asking price of “License to Drive” from bargain-bin levels up to what you’d expect to pay for an entire season of “Two and a Half Men.” Take a look at the screenshot from Amazon below. This was not doctored, and you’re welcome to take a look for yourself if you don’t believe it:

It’s tough to see, but the cheapest asking price for a USED copy is $40+ bucks! Not only that, but the damn thing is even more on sites like eBay and DeepDiscountDVD.com.

What does this prove? Well not a damn thing actually, other than the fact that, as much as we love our listeners, you won’t be getting a copy of “License to Drive” from us in April. Keep your chin up though, because we’re expecting the price to return to that of a cup of cheap coffee for March, so keep listening for your chance to win!

Argaregards,
-Dave

The bits shall dangle… TONIGHT!

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Tracy was watching men in tight shorts kick each others’ balls around last night, so we couldn’t record a new Dangly Bits Show.

But fear not!

We will be recording one tonight that promises to be almost twice as dangly as it would have been had we recorded it on the normal DB night. So tune into UStream live at 9:30pm PST if you want to have a good time. It’s not like you have anything esle to do on a Friday night, right?

A few shots from our Listener Party!

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Our first ever Dave and Steve Show Listener Party already seems as though it took place a million years ago, but we have a few great photos thanks to our pal, Steve Haverly (that’s him in the last photo), to prove that it actually took place!

We had a blast at the party, and enjoyed meeting new listeners as well as getting to chat with folks we’ve known for a LONG time. We’ll let you know when the next one is going down, and are already working on some ideas to make it even more special than the first!

Argar your faces.

Dave is stupid.

Hey all you Pile Members!

Dave’s dumb head went and forgot to edit out the secret “live” word from Episode #105 before it was posted. He’s going to take care of it by the end of the day today, but now is your chance to take advantage of his mistake and get a chance to win a copy of “Uncharted 2″ for the PS3. All you have to do is listen to the show, email us the secret word and you’ll be entered to win.

Listen now before he gets his hands on the “dump button” if you know what we mean.

Argar Free Games!

We’ll be live at 9:00pm PST tonight!

Monday, February 8th, 2010

We tried out the whole Ustream live thing on last Thursday’s Dangly Bits Show, and it went so well that we figured we’d do it for the main show tonight! Tune into our official page on Ustream if you want to watch and chat with other viewers, or just come back to this page to watch the live stream in the window below from the comfort of The Dave and Steve Show website!

The live feed will be broadcast, beginning at 9:00pm PST with our interview with Padme Grace, followed by our 9:30pm taping of the main show!

Live video by Ustream

Dave has set up a webcam to at least have some kind of video feed, even if it is just his ugly mug for now, and we’ll be giving out the secret word that you need for a chance to win “The New Super Mario Bros” for the Nintendo Wii!

This month we’re giving away a copy of “Batman Arkham Asylum” for the PS3, and all you have to do is listen to Show #98!

Somewhere in that show, we mention a secret word. Simply email that word to dasshow@gmail.com for your chance to win this amazing game!

And keep listening, because next month we’re going to be giving away another great game!

How about some iTunes love?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Hi Pile Members!

If you’ve got iTunes installed, and have a second, can you swing over and rate the show for us?

Just click the big logo above this, and you’ll be taken to our page on the iTunes store. Then click on the “Write A Review” option under “Customer Ratings.” We want you to be totally honest and rate the show what you think it deserves, but in the same breath, we know you ALL think it deserves 5 stars.

Believe it or not, this does a great deal for us to get the word out about the show, and it will only take a minute or two of your time.

Thank you!

Happy New Year to all of the members of The Pile!

We’re back in full swing as of today, and will be recording the very first Dave and Steve Show of the New Year tonight.

We’re going to be giving our own predictions on the show and cast members, and we’ll also be sharing the results from last year’s Celebrity Dead Pool, as well as picking brand new ones for this year. Tracy has a book review of epic proportions lined up, and we may also have a brand new sponsor to the show.

Not only that, but we’re going to be revealing the details of our brand new contest, in which you can win lots of great games for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii!

We’ll also bring you all of the latest Headlines, the ENews, our Hometown Blotter, and all of the witty banter you’ve come to expect from this great show!

So tune in tomorrow morning, and drop us a line either at dasshow@gmail.com or by calling our comment line now at 206-984-2407. We’d love to hear from you!

We have so much planned for this new year, in the form of new show segments, contests, interviews and more, so keep listening and telling your friends. We’re nothing without our Pile!

Finally, make sure you tune in this Friday for the first Dangly Bits Show of 2010. You just never know what Tracy, Jen and J are going to come up with…

Written from a plane, somewhere over Canada.

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Hey Folks!

It’s Dave, and I’m sending this to you from high above the lovely Canadian heartland! As I type this, we are on our way to The North Pole, and are preparing to bring you the best darn Holiday Special that we can later tonight.

We’ll have a special Holiday-edition of Headlines, Steve is going to be sharing some letters to Santa, we’re going to chat with our old pal, Sprinkles the Elf, and Dave is going to read a very special version of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” to put you all in the Holiday mood!

As if that wasn’t enough, we’re going to kick off the gift giving with our own Dave and Steve Show gift exchange featuring the cast of The Dave and Steve Show, as well as the folks from The Dangly Bits Show!

If you want to hear just how badly one of these gift exchanges can go, listen to last year’s Holiday Special. You should be warned though that we were a bit more free-spirited with the language back when this was recorded, as we hadn’t quite hit the train wreck of a show that was our 50th.

I better go, as I’m not even sure I’m supposed to have my cell phone powered on right now. What are they going to do? Arrest a guy who is on his way to see Santa? I just don’t think so.

So tune in Tuesday morning and we’ll have some fun together!

Steel Panther interview update.

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

If you guys already watched Part 1 of our interview with Steel Panther, we suggest you watch it again. That’s because J the Producer got his hands on the footage and used his mad editing skills to actually make it come across as somewhat professional!

He’s now working on Part 2 and we should have it up on the site early this week, so keep checking back!

If you’re too lazy to scroll down two posts, just click this link.

Death to all but metal, and The Dave and Steve Show!

Wish someone a very Argar Christmas!

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Loyal Members of the Pile,

Want to wish someone Happy Holidays in a special way? Why not call our comment line at 206-984-2407 and wish that special loved one a Merry Christmas, or simply let them know that you’re thinking of them around this time of year. We’ll then play your message for all to hear in the coming weeks! The best part is that if you do this, not only will you be placed on the Nice List, but you can also treat this as your gift to that person and save some extra cash.

So call now!

What can you get for us, the crew of The Dave and Steve Show? We’re only asking for three simple things this year:

1. Rate us on iTunes – Simply click on this link and leave a rating or review of the show. It’s quick and easy, and the more we get, the more we get featured and linked on iTunes!

2. Check out our free App! – If you have in iPhone or an iPod Touch, you can check out our official app called “Dave and Steve’s Droppings” by clicking right here! As with the show, we’d also appreciate anyone who has purchased the app leaving us a review and/or rating on iTunes.

3. Finally we simply ask that you spread the word about the show. Share links on Facebook, email friends and family, and just generally shout our show’s name from the rooftops. We need you to tell other people about us, and in return we promise to repay you with contests and special events!

Thank you for your continued support.

Dave and Steve’s Droppings is in the iTunes Store!

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

It is with great pride that we can now officially announce that the first ever Dave and Steve Show App is available for download!

The App is 100% free and is also 100% ad-free. It’s simply our way of saying “Thank you!” to the members of The Pile, and also yet another way for you to share the word about The Dave and Steve Show.

It’s still brand new to the store, so give it a day to show up in searches, but in the meantime, here is a direct link to it.

Now you may be asking, “Hey Dave and Steve, you sexist pigs, where are the drops from the female cohosts on the show?” The answer is simple…

We are sexist pigs.

Actually that’ not true. Well… Tracy is, but none of the rest of us are. It simply boils down to the fact that creating an App takes a LONG time, and when we started this whole thing, we didn’t have any females on the show. The good news though is that we are already planning an update to include not only new drops from the guys on the show, but also drops from our lovely ladies as well!

We’ve also got some other things planned for it, but that will come later.

Until then, enjoy the App and tell your friends about it, and our final little show!

Finally, a HUGE “Thank you!” goes out to loyal Pile Member, Listener Mike, for putting the whole thing together. If you’re interested in creating your own App, hit up Mike’s amazingly-awesome site at Funcode.net and tell him Dave and Steve sent you!

The bits aren’t dangling, Clark.

Friday, October 30th, 2009

No Dangly Bits today, though we may get a chance to record one tonight. The reason for the no-show is not due to lack of desire, but simply as a result of life getting in the way in the form of sickness, jobs, and a possible STD.

BUT FEAR NOT! If we don’t get to record a Dangly tonight, we’ll have one waiting for you next Friday, and in the meantime, make sure you check out our super-special Halloween Show if you haven’t already. We got visits from Brett Favre, Kate of Jon & Kate, Captain America, and more. On top of that, each cast member dressed up too!

Keep em’ dangling.

Spread the word, and ye shall be rewarded!

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

We hope you enjoyed our most recent Halloween Show. We had a blast making it, and we’re so proud of how it turned out.

If you liked it too, would you mind doing us a favor? Let your Facebook friends know about us. It’s super-easy in that all you need to do is click the ‘Share on Facebook’ button at the bottom of that or any post on this site.

It’s a great way to get the word out about the show, and more listeners means more amazing things to come, such as contests, additional interviews, prizes, and more. So start spreading the news about our show, and you will be rewarded!

As always, a HUGE thank you to the current members of The Pile who do their part each and every day to tell others about The Dave and Steve Show. You’re the reason we’re doing this, because it sure as hell isn’t for the money.

Trick or Treat! (show news)

Monday, October 26th, 2009

We’re going to be recording a very special Halloween Dave and Steve Show tonight, so throw on a sheet and come on down to the studio! We’re going to be handing out candy early (a fact the neighborhood kids are more than aware of), and we’ll be dressing up ourselves as well!

All of this while at the same time bringing you all of the standard Dave and Steve Show craziness you’ve come to expect.

So if you’ve got kids, bring em’ on by and we’ll load them up with candy early!

Take a break and stop by The Camode! (forums)

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Did you know that The Dave and Steve Show has its own official forums?

It’s true, and there are some amazing conversations going on there right now that don’t make it on to our show. So climb in The Camode and introduce yourself!

Pile… Camode… get it? Of course you do. Now get your tails in there and have some fun!

Tell your Facebook friend about Dave and Steve!

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

One of the best ways you can spread the word about The Dave and Steve Show is by sharing it with your friends on Facebook!

We make it super-easy for you to do this by including a “Share On Facebook” link at the bottom of every post on this site. Just look for the little blue Facebook logo like the one you see just below this post. Click that and it will do the rest for you.

So if something tickles you fancy on this site (like… oh… maybe an episode or two?) why not let your friends know about it? It only takes a second, and it sure would help us out a great deal!

Dave and Steve’s Droppings (iPhone App)

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Our iPhone App is VERY close to being completed. We’ll then have to submit it and wait for approval, which takes around 2 weeks. So with any luck, it will be available by mid-October! In the meantime, here is a screenshot of the intro screen for the App:

As mentioned, the App will be 100% free, and will have no advertisements in it at all. We just want it to be yet another fun way for The Pile to spread the word about the show.

On a side note, in light of our recent additions, we will be making future updates once we have enough drops of the (ahem) female persuasion.

Meet the newest member of The Dave and Steve Show!

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

As you heard on this past week’s show, we have a brand new addition to The Dave and Steve Show! Gretchen will be joining us each and every Monday night, and will add a touch of class to what has been a largely classless affair to this point. Here is a short bio to help you get to know Gretchen a bit better:

My name is Gretchen Black and I am so excited to be working with the most incredible cast of characters in the industry! Wow! It is an honor and a privilege to be the newest member of the award winning, ground breaking, cutting edge…… Dave and Steve Show!
I would like to introduce myself to you by answering a few questions that routinely come my way:

1. Where is your home town? I grew up in Tacoma, Washington and went to Stadium High School.

2. What is your favorite food? I love anything spicy and full of noodles!

3. What was your first job? I worked at a deli near the Tacoma Dome called Sunset Salami. They were “known” for their Cajun Gumbo.

4. What is your current hobby? Other than being a private tutor, personal chef, maid, clown and doctor for my 9 year old son, I love to explore the art of acting and experiment with knitting….all in my spare time, of course.

5. What is your favorite childhood memory? Convincing my 3 year old brother to run away with me to “a better place.” We made it a ½ block before my dad pulled up and instructed us both to “get in.” So much for my life on the run!

6. What was your first concert? I went with my cousin Tina to the Prince “Purple Rain” Concert at the Tacoma Dome! I will never forget that feeling of awe, fear and pure bewilderment! Thanks Cuz!

7. Pick one CD that you would want to have on a deserted Island with you. EASY! Bon Jovi Greatest Hits….complete with duets performed with Jennifer Nettles.

8. What makes you laugh? HAHA! Great question! Watching little kids when they think no one else sees them, observing “nose pickers” on the freeway, listening to myself on the radio, hearing the words “city mouse” from my favorite cousins in Pierce County and watching Old School with my favorite guy.

9. Who was your celebrity crush as a teenager? It’s a tie between Rob Lowe and Rick Springfield.

10. Where would you take your dream vacation? My FAVORITE question! After flying from Seattle to Miami for a full day of pampering with my loved ones, we would then depart to the Mediterranean and embark on a 3 week cruise aboard a private yacht. I have no plans once we set sail, as my wish is to explore as my heart leads me……cheers!

Welcome to the show, Gretchen! We’ve already started a pool in Tracy’s bunker as to when you’ll get completely disgusted/weirded out/offended by us and leave the show.

My money is on four days.
